I have just returned from Mendocino in Northern California and had a truly relaxing and spiritually renewing time. I hope all of you are doing the same this summer, not necessarily in the redwoods, but somewhere in nature where you can feel the roots of the plants as they grow in the soil, smell the fresh air and enjoy the sounds of the birds and all that nature provides. There is too much inner chaos to live in the concrete jungles of the cities without time out. I live by the ocean in Malibu - a few times each year I enjoy going into the wilderness or to the mountains, sometimes the desert for the most heavenly meditations. I am sending this Light and energy from those meditations and from the redwood forest to all who happen upon this posting ;-) with love & blessings, Averi
The Redwoods. Â*They sound amazing. Â*I love CA. Â*This year I'm at home in NYC but have my rose garden. Â*I can smell lovely roses every time I leave the house, so I know I've always stopped to take the time to smell the roses, so to speak, literally.
I'm going to the beach on Monday with the girls. Â*You're so lucky to be in Malibu. Â*Anywhere in CA is just so amazingly beautiful. Â*I did get to Duxbury, MA on the water for a week. Â*I'm also waiting for my new meditation tapes. Â*Â*I love music, it's a big part of my life. Â*I'm going to play the music in my x husband's room to help to clear it. Â*It's actually better now. Â*My friend was chanting in there and I cleared it too. Â*I'm thinking I'll do healings in that room. Â* :) It seems fine now although I have bad memories - I'll just make new ones. Â*
Enjoy Malibu! Â*I'll be sure to keep a garden in my mind as I Â*hike the concrete jungle. Â*It's a challenge but I've gotten very good . . . flow.
I read something inspiring by Mother, the consort of Sri Aurobindo (he is one of my guides):
Mother is asked about flowers a lot and they had special significance to her. This one idea had impact on me:
"What is this psychic prayer that flowers represent?"
Mother answers:
The psychic, when it manifests in a plant, in the form of a flower, is in the form of a wordless prayer; it is the elan of the plant towards the Divine.
So I meditated about my terrace garden and the roses I put on my mantle with the skylight to the Heavens above and the Angels looking down at flowers and candlelight.
The girls and I had dinner out on the terrace Sunday night. I then dedicated my garden to the Angels and God and said I'd call it The Heavenly Garden or The Garden of Angels.
Today when I came home and was in the kitchen (which was full of roast chicken cooking) Yadira (the woman who works for me) spun around and told me that I smelled of Hyacinth. I smelled it for a second but she was really knocked over by it. Then I walked to a different part of the room. She kept stopping and shaking her head and looking at me, walking toward and away from me. She said there was an overwhelming smell of Hyacinth or Narcissus around me. Not in the room but around me. I think it is the Mother and Sri Aurobindo's way of giving back or the Angels gift back to me for my gift to them. So beautiful. I couldn't think of a nicer gift . . . to smell like flowers even when you aren't perfumed.
