My daughter, Kathleen, is a recovering alcoholic who has been in a very emotionally/psychologically abused marriage--which just dissolved through divorce. My daughter is seriously working at keeping a sober, clean, alcohol-free lifestyle. The pressure of the divorce and the abuse was so much she relapsed in Nov. but has been sober since, after attending Hazelden treatment center for 30 days. Although "she" is the target people/the courts are watching. It is, in reality the ex-husband who has deep psych/emo problems. They have a 10 1/2 year old son, now temporarily living with his dad (temporary residential custody). Both are custodial guardians of their son. In October (for Nov. 1). the courts will review this again. With her continued sobriety, she will seek residential custody of her son.
The prayer is for her continued healing, her complete sobriety and her getting her son back. Not because I am her mother, but because she truly IS the best parent for her child. She has been the primary care-giver for the majority of Josh's years...but in 1999- for 18 months she relapsed, and again in Nov. Please pray for her healing and for getting her son back.
